4. His favorite hobbies include riding horseback

As big of a star as he is, Canelo really leads a simple life. There isn’t much he loves to do outside of boxing, but the one hobby he’s had since he was a kid is horseback riding. Growing up on a farm, riding horses was a great way for Canelo to explore the countryside.

Nowadays, he’ll do it either as a weekend activity or to wind down after a fight, according to The Telegraph:

"Riding is just a hobby for me and I’m out on the horse mainly at weekends but I like to go out on horseback after my fights, out into the open countryside, where there are no people, and just relax, with a few friends. We make a fire, cook, and sleep out under the stars. It’s a great feeling."

Any time Canelo is featured in 24/7, they make it a habit to detail his love of horseback riding. Perhaps it’s to show that, despite being one of the most feared men on the planet, Canelo isn’t very different from us. He takes pleasure in the smaller details and doesn’t live an extravagant lifestyle. It makes it a lot easier for the people of Mexico to identify with him when he comes across as an average person. It helps, too, that he’s a very humble man.

Even if he loses to GGG, he’ll still be the peoples’ champ.
