Vita Vea

Defensive Tackle, Washington

For the second Summer in a row, the Denver Broncos had a quarterback battle on their hands. During the 2016 NFL Draft, the team went and drafted quarterback Paxton Lynch in the first round. However, he has yet to prove he can beat out Trevor Siemian for the starting job, and many are starting to wonder if he will become a draft bust.

There are more than just questions about the quarterback spot on this roster. The running game has been putrid as of late, and the team let go of veteran T.J. Ward this past week, leaving a gaping hole on their defense. Still, the Broncos have one of the best defensive units again in 2017, and they should be in for at least a Wildcard spot when all is said and done.

If the Broncos end up picking this late in round one, I like them to do something to bolster the interior of their defensive line. They have such talented players on the edge, that bringing in someone to clog up the middle may make this defense even better. Vita Vea from Washington is very good at clogging up the gaps, and has proven he can be very disruptive in the passing game as well.

The Broncos may very well decide to bring in a quarterback depending how Siemian does this season, though he did not play badly last season. The running game is a head-scratcher, but C.J. Anderson was hurt for much of last season. Look for them to continue to make the defense one of the more elite units in football, and drafting Vea at No. 20 would definitely be a solid pick for the Broncos.
