Quenton Nelson

Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

The Seattle Seahawks seem to always be in the mix for the Super Bowl since Russell Wilson took over at quarterback, and they should once again be a favorite in the NFC in 2017. Wilson has most of his weapons back for the upcoming season, including star wideout Doug Baldwin, and tight end Jimmy Graham. On the defensive side of the ball, the Legion of Boom reloaded this offseason, and that means a lot of wins for the Seahawks in 2017.

It has become custom that the Seahawks draft near the bottom of the first round, and that is likely where they will be come the 2018 NFL Draft. With their late round pick, they should look to bring in some added depth on the offensive line, especially at the guard position. There are few first round guards in this draft class, but the Notre Dame Fighting Irish just happen to have one.

Quenton Nelson is an incredible talent, and he should join teammate Mike McGlinchey in the first round in April. Nelson is the best guard this draft class has to offer, and that is a position of need for the Seahawks. The defense is going to always be solid in Seattle, and bringing in another offensive lineman to the fold is only going to benefit their star quarterback.

Seattle lost to the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round last season, and will be looking to take it at least one step forward in 2017. They have done a nice job filling their roster with veteran talent, including guys like Sheldon Richardson on the defensive line. If the offense can move the ball with consistency this season, the Seahawks may wind up being the best team in the NFC.
