Tyquan Lewis

Defensive End, Ohio State

It was an interesting offseason to say the least for the Pittsburgh Steelers. First, they heard rumblings that star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was going to retire. Then, their star running back, Le’Veon Bell decided to sit out the entire preseason. However, a few days before Week 1 kicks off, and both men are in the fold, making them the No. 2 team in the AFC heading into the season.

The Steelers had a great 2016 campaign, making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game. In that game, the New England Patriots proved to be too much, crushing the Steelers inside Foxboro Stadium. With all of their weapons back, the Steelers should once again be drafting towards the bottom of the first round in April, and they should grab an Ohio State defensive beast with the pick.

Tyquan Lewis is a fantastic talent, who has won his fair share of hardware during his time with the Buckeyes. He is actually the reigning Big Ten defensive lineman of the year, and is the kind of player who can play all over the defensive front. He has the perfect motor for the Steelers, and plays with the kind of intensity that head coach Mike Tomlin demands from his players.

This roster is built to win now, and they already bright in some young defensive talent with their first round pick in 2017. T.J. Watt is going to take over for James Harrison in that outside linebacker spot, and they could dip back into the Big Ten pool and grab Lewis in seven months. It will be interesting to see this team in action this season, as Big Ben will be looking for one more ring before retiring.
