Best NFL games of Week 1: Packers, Seahawks showdown in Lambeau
By Joe Schiller
1. Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers
This will by far be the best game we see in the opening week. Two NFC powerhouses come up against each other. This could very well be a preview of the NFC Championship in late January. You have Aaron Rodgers coming up against the best defense in the NFL. It doesn’t get much better than that.
We already knew how good the Seahawks defense is, but they got even better this offseason. They have added the likes of Sheldon Richardson, Dion Jordan and Marcus Smith. Their front seven is unfair and can’t be matched by another other team in the NFL. They’ll look to get after a Packers offensive line that lost guard Josh Sitton and J.C. Tretter in free agency.
Something to look out for: can the Packers establish any kind of run game? Without a true starting running back, Ty Montgomery will be tested against the Seahawks defense. Aaron Rodgers could very well throw close to 50 passes if the Packers cannot run the ball. Against a Seahawks secondary that has Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor, good luck. Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but he won’t be able to do it all by himself.

I expect a close game that should come down to the fourth quarter. Turnovers will be crucial as the team who avoids the most mistakes will likely be the ones who come away with the win on Sunday.
