Cardinals at Lions live stream: TV info, prediction, odds and more
By Brad Weiss
In a solid early matchup, the Arizona Cardinals take on the Detroit Lions inside Ford Field in Week 1 NFL action on Sunday.
During the 2016 NFL season, the Detroit Lions surprised some people by making it to the playoffs. However, they did have control of the division for most of the season, losing their grip on the title with a Week 17 loss to the Green Bay Packers. They are out to get back to the postseason in 2017, and their high-priced quarterback has the talent to get them there.
The Lions made Matthew Stafford the highest-paid player in NFL history this offseason, and he will be out to prove that he is worth the big contract. Detroit’s opponent in Week 1 is certain to be hungry to show what they can do as well, after missing out on the playoffs a year after making it to the NFC Championship Game. Carson Palmer is back to lead his Arizona Cardinals on another Super Bowl run, and has arguably the best running back in the NFC behind him.
David Johnson has become a star over the past two seasons, and he is such a versatile weapon from his running back position. If the Cardinals can get him in space in this one, the Lions do not have the talent on defense to stop him. On the other hand, the Cardinals do have some playmakers on their defensive unit, and that could prove to be the difference in this one.

Betting Odds
Point spread: ARI (-2)
Over/Under: 48.0
The offenses in this game can put up points, so it may be wise to choose the over in this one. The Cardinals enter the game as a two-point favorite, mostly thanks to them having the better defense. The lines are always changing, so check out sportsbookreview.com up until game time.

Prediction
This is going to be one of those games where the offenses make some big plays early on. Both quarterbacks have been doing this a long time, and each offense features the kind of players who can take it to the house at any time. The advantage swings in the Cardinals favor when you look at the running backs, as the combination of Theo Riddick and Ameer Abdullah are no contest for the exploits of David Johnson.
The spread is a tight one in this matchup, and the game is going to play that way. I look for the Lions to hang tough against a good Cardinals defense, but in the end, they will make a mistake that swings the game in Arizona’s favor. Look for the Cardinals to cover the spread, but only by a point or two.
Final Score: Cardinals 28, Lions 24
