After four films, there is not much that Daniel Craig’s James Bond hasn’t done. Car chases? Check. Flying planes? Check. Boats? Check. Driven the DB5? Check. You get the picture. In fact, his list of Bondian action tropes is pretty extensive.. He has even jumped on the back of a Komodo dragon. So what is left on Daniel Craig’s to-do list? As we approach Bond 25, let’s take a look.

Scuba Diving

Thunderball demonstrated James Bond’s comfort with diving, even with hand-to-hand combat in scuba equipment. While Craig’s Bond has done battle underwater (the lake at Skyfall), he hasn’t donned the equipment.

  • Sleeping with the Enemy

Unless we consider Vesper or Severine “enemies,” Craig’s Bond has not used sex against an enemy female, a la Connery with Fiona Volpe or Brosnan with Miranda Frost. Might we see this in Bond 25?

    Rock Climbing

Craig’s Bond has shown some ability to climb (or at least hang on) in urban locations (Shanghai, Madagascar). But he has not yet tackled a natural terrain, as Moore’s Bond did in For Your Eyes Only.

Squaring Off Against a Female Adversary

Bond has had his share of female assassins, against whom he must battle — physically or mentally. Rosa Klebb. Irma Bunt. Xenia Onatopp. Might Craig’s Bond encounter a similar threat?

    Stopping a Bomb from Detonating

Yes, Craig’s Bond did stop a bombing, in the nick of time. in Casino Royale. But that action did not require him to physically deactivate the device. Roger Moore’s Bond was especially good at this. He did the trick in The Spy Who Loved Me and Octopussy.

    Skiing

This is a biggie, and it is a significant missing piece in Craig’s canon. When filming locations were set at the Ice Q in Austria, there was hope that Bond would return to the slopes. Alas, that did not occur. In fact, we have not seen Bond on skis since The World Is Not Enough, in 1999. Bond is desperately needing a return to the slopes.

What else is missing in Daniel Craig’s James Bond films?
