4. Adam Hanga, PF, Barcelona

Hanga is a player that many are shocked to see back in Europe this year. A draft-and-stash player for the San Antonio Spurs (of course), Hanga looked poised to head to San Antonio to replace Jonathan Simmons. Instead, he ended up in a bidding war with Baskonia and Barcelona, and is moving to Barca on a sizeable contract. Hanga will be a big part of the movement to bring the Euroleague staple back to glory.

Hanga’s defense and slashing are going to play big roles. He is the reigning Euroleague Defensive Player of the Year, and his ability to defend all five positions at the Euroleague level make him incredibly versatile. He can protect the rim, tango with guards on switches, and he’s strong enough to post a 15.1 percent defensive rebound rate, a solid number for a three. Offensively is where he needs to take steps — he’s not much of a shooter at this point, and outside of cuts to the rim, he’s not much of a ball-handler either. Taking that step will make him a more well-rounded player, and he is the man on watch to be the most likely draft-and-stash buyout candidate next summer if that happens.
