College Football Rankings 2017: Projected Top 25 after Week 2
No. 10: Florida State Seminoles (0-1)
Ranking coming into Week 2: No. 10
Florida State’s game against Louisiana Monroe was postponed because of Hurricane Irma heading in the direction of the southeast portion of the United States this past weekend.
No. 9: Ohio State Buckeyes (1-1)
Ranking coming into Week 2: No. 2
Yikes, Buckeyes. Losing by 15 at home in primetime to a team you thoroughly handled last season isn’t a good look at all. Last year is last year, but that was an uninspiring performance from the Bucks on Saturday night against a hungry Sooners bunch. There’s still plenty to play for in the Big Ten East alone for OSU, but they better bounce back and quickly because they can’t afford any more slip-ups this year.
No. 8: Wisconsin Badgers (2-0)
Ranking coming into Week 2: No. 9
Lane Kiffin and Florida Atlantic tried to keep it close at Camp Randall on Saturday, but the Badgers rushing attack was just too much. Wisconsin pounded the Owls for 357 yards on 54 carries in their 31-14 victory. Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor racked up 223 of those yards and two touchdowns.
No. 7: Michigan Wolverines (2-0)
Ranking coming into Week 2: No. 8
Michigan improved to 2-0 after a 36-14 win over Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon, but the score wasn’t as pretty as you think it would be for the Wolverines. Ty Isaac had another 100-yard game on the ground, but if Wilton Speight — who did complete 17 of 29 pass attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns — can find some consistency throwing the ball, it’s going to be hard for Michigan to keep up in the Big Ten East.
No. 6: Washington Huskies (2-0)
Ranking coming into Week 2: No. 7
After a bit of a struggle in the opener on the road against a pesky Rutgers bunch, the Huskies trounced Montana in their own home opener on Saturday night. After Stanford lost to USC on the road, Saturday couldn’t have been much better for Jake Browning and the Huskies heading into Week 3.
