1. Tarik Cohen

We are all desperate for running backs. It happens every year. Injuries mount early, some presumed workhorses end up in time shares, or the players we believed in just end up in some bad situations. Tarik Cohen could be an ideal early-season pickup to help out those of you who have ended up with underwhelming running back starters or met with an injury or two.

Against Atlanta, Cohen accumulated 113 total yards, and his eight catches catapulted his PPR fantasy total to over 25 points. Even though starter Jordan Howard had almost triple the number of carries (13 to Cohen’s five), it was the rookie who was the more dangerous playmaker.

Who is Tarik Cohen? He’s Chicago’s diminutive fourth round NFL draft pick, who comes in at 5-foot-6 and 181 pounds. Known for his “all-rounder” prowess at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, he broke a ton of school records throughout his career and you only need to take a quick glance at his Wikipedia page to see how storied he was (check out the “career highlights and awards” section).

The Bears had an idea of what they could expect from Cohen in the preseason as he made big play after big play, and wanted to get the ball in his hands as much as possible:

I doubt teams will allow this to happen every week, but he’s a special weapon worth owning.
