5. Jared Goff

Last year’s number one overall pick has had a crazy ride in his short time in the NFL. He sat behind Case Keenum, had a horrific first season after taking over, then was subjected to a complete coaching and personnel overhaul around him heading into year two. However, the offseason changes were all good as the team did everything they could do surround their youngster with weapons.

On Sunday, while the Rams whole team dominated the Indianapolis Colts, Goff quietly had probably the most comfortable game of his career so far. He’s had better fantasy totals, but with 21 completions on 29 attempts, 306 yards, one touchdown and no turnovers, he looked composed and in control.

Perhaps you thought Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer or Eli Manning was your answer to a late-round quarterback strategy, but it looks like the young Ram is due to take a huge step forward in year two while some veterans have the potential to fall off a cliff.

In their next two games, Los Angeles face Washington, who struggled to contain Carson Wentz (26/39-307-2-1) and the 49ers, who suffered a 23-3 defeat to the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton didn’t look at his best, but still scored twice through the air. Over the next couple of weeks, Goff could be plugged into fantasy teams with confidence.
