3. Cooper Kupp

Kupp will be the only player I include from last week’s waiver wire pickup suggestions. Not because he’s the only name on it I’d still recommend (there are more – Chris Carson, Paul Richardson and Jay Cutler, for example), but because if you didn’t grab him before the season, you must get a piece of him now. He had four catches for 76 yards and a touchdown in the season opener, and looks like he might develop into a Jared Goff favorite (if he isn’t already).

While both running back Todd Gurley and receiver Sammy Watkins hauled in five balls each, Kupp’s 76 yards led the team. He had six targets on the day, and importantly, the preseason rapport he showed with the second-year starter at quarterback looked to have translated over to regular season.

The Rams defense stole the show in Los Angeles (two pick-sixes and 28 fantasy points), but there are reasons to be excited about the attack. Sean McVay had the team playing with enthusiasm and excitement – a stark contrast from the Jeff Fisher days. Cooper Kupp could develop into a solid option on an offense on the rise – snap him up before it’s too late.
