TCU Horned Frogs 2-0

Last week: Win vs Arkansas, 28-7
Last rank: 4th

TCU is off to a red-hot start to the season. It started with a win over Jackson State in Week 1 and followed with a convincing win over a SEC team, Arkansas, 28-7. The Horned Frogs allowed a combined seven points in these two games.

Against the Razorbacks, the TCU running game shined. Darius Anderson’s 106 yards led the way, as the team rushed for 195 total yards. The defense also shut down Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen to just nine completions in 23 attempts.

TCU will host SMU on Saturday, a team that’s 2-0, but with wins over North Texas and Stephen F. Austin. Look for another breakout performance from the No. 20 team in the nation.

Kansas State Wildcats 2-0

Last week: Win vs Charlotte, 55-7
Last rank: 3rd

Kansas State has had a light first two weeks. It started with a win over Central Arkansas and continued against Charlotte, with a 55-7 win in Week 2 of college football.

Quarterback Jesse Ertz came through for the second consecutive week. He threw for 178 yards and ran for 76. Running back Alex Barnes had a productive day, too, with 99 yards and one touchdown.

Before Big 12 play begins, the Wildcats will face Vanderbilt on Saturday. The Commodores are 2-0 and allowed just six points in two games, but going against the No. 18 team in the nation may end their early-season hot streak.
