The NL Central is still way too close to call after the Brewers swept a weekend series in Chicago from the Cubs. The Cardinals are keeping things interesting as well. The Cubs have seven games left against St. Louis and four games in Milwaukee, so they control their own destiny. It harrdly seems possible that the defending World Series champs could miss the playoffs altogether, but they have failed to slam the door on their challengers despite plenty of opportunities.
