NL Wild Card Standings

Arizona Diamondbacks (83-62, .572, +3.0 GB)

The Diamondbacks might be wondering if they could have a winning streak on par with the Indians were it not for Patrick Corbin imploding and allowing eight runs to the Padres last Friday. That loss snapped a 13-game winning streak and was followed by another ugly loss where Fernando Rodney imploded in the ninth inning and allowed a 7-2 lead to slip away. When he’s been good this year, Rodney has been impressive, but his blowups have been worse than any other closer employed by a contender.

Colorado Rockies (80-65, .552, – GB)

The Rockies looked to be fighting for their playoff lives after a bad stretch last week, but have rebounded with six wins in a row, including a sweep of the Dodgers. Their schedule is fairly easy the rest of the season, with two more games against the Diamondbacks to make up ground in head-to-head play. The Rockies end the season with three games against the Dodgers where LA could be resting most of their stars.

St. Louis Cardinals (76-68, .528, 3.5 GB)

Milwaukee Brewers (76-69, .524, 4 GB)

Miami Marlins (68-76, .472, 11.5 GB)

Pittsburgh Pirates (68-78, .466, 12.5 GB)

Atlanta Braves (65-78, .455, 14 GB)

San Diego Padres (65-80, .448, 15 GB)

New York Mets (63-81, .438, 16.5 GB)

Cincinnati Reds (62-83, .428, 18 GB)

San Francisco Giants (57-90, .388, 24 GB)

Philadelphia Phillies (55-89, .382, 24.5 GB)

The Brewers and Cardinals are both more alive in the race for the NL Central than they are in the Wild Card hunt. The Brewers were able to pull themselves up off the mat after being swept by the Reds. Their sweep of the Cubs in Chicago was huge for their playoff chances. The Cardinals have been just as hot as the Diamondbacks and Rockies, but might have left too large a gap to make up in the final three weeks of the season.
