College Football Week 3: NFL Draft big board rankings
Oklahoma turned in a terrific team performance in the impressive road victory over Ohio State, with Brown leading the way in the trenches.
Brown helped completely shut down a talented Ohio State defensive line that includes Sam Hubbard, Tyquan Lewis and Nick Bosa to key the 31-16 victory. The Sooners now have a strong argument as the best offensive line in the nation, with Brown sticking out as their top NFL prospect.
While Brown has been overshadowed by Oklahoma’s talented skill position players like Baker Mayfield, Dede Westbrook and Joe Mixon during his career, he’s been a major factor in the Sooners’ terrific offense. Brown allowed just one sack in 659 snaps last season en route to being named a second-team All-American and winning the Big 12 Offensive Linemen of the Year Award.
At 6-8 and 345 pounds with long arms, Brown is a mammoth offensive lineman who can overwhelm opposing defenders with sheer strength, much like his father Orlando. Brown needs to show a little more quickness in run blocking situations, but his ability to protect the quarterback could make him the first tackle off the board in the 2018 NFL draft.
Look for Brown to build on his status as the best offensive line prospect in the nation this week in a far less high profile matchup against Tulane.
