Connor Williams

Offensive Tackle, Texas

During their Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, a couple of issues really stood out. One, they cannot do much on offense without Odell Beckham Jr., who missed the game due to an ankle injury. The second was that the offensive line needs a lot of help, and luckily for the Giants, this draft class has a lot more talent up front than the 2017 class did.

When it comes to offensive tackles, two names are at the top of the 2018 NFL Draft class. One is Mike McGlinchey, who may have been the best tackle in last year’s draft if he made himself eligible. The other is Connor Williams, who has proven to be the anchor of the Texas Longhorns’ offensive line during the last few seasons. Both men could be top-10 picks, and Williams would be a nice fit for a Giants offensive line that is a true weakness at this point.

The Giants made a bunch of moves to bring in more talent on offense, but it will not help at all if Eli Manning does not have time to throw. In 2016, the Giants erased a five-year absence from the NFC Playoffs, but by the way they looked on Sunday night, they could be on the outside looking in in 2017. The defense is elite, but there is only so much they can do at this point to help the team in a very tough NFC East.
