Malik Jefferson

Linebacker, Texas

In a battle of potential AFC Playoff teams, the Tennessee Titans played host to the Oakland Raiders this past Sunday. While both teams have the potential to be very good on offense, they both have some deficiencies on the defensive side of the ball. Each of these teams are going to draft a defensive player in the first round next April, and the Titans need some help at the linebacker spot.

One of the best linebackers in the 2018 NFL Draft class is Malik Jefferson, who is an elite player for the Texas Longhorns. Jefferson has the ability to cover the entire field, and has the athleticism to make up for mistakes in coverage. He is going to be a first round pick in April, and would fit perfectly into what the Titans do on defense.

With Marcus Mariota at quarterback, the Titans have the opportunity to be good for a very long time. Their 2017 NFL Draft first round pick, Corey Davis, played very well in Week 1, showing he could be a legitimate WR1 at this level. Adding to the defense is only going to make the Titans better, and in a very tough AFC South division, they need all the stoppers they can get.
