Christian Wilkins

Defensive Tackle, Clemson

In one of the more stunning upsets of the Week 1 schedule, the New England Patriots were beaten at home by the Kansas City Chiefs. For the Patriots, it should just be seen as a bump in the road, as they have enough talent to get back to a Super Bowl this season. However, due to the loss, they would be picking in the top-15 picks next April if the season ended today, so here goes nothing.

With the No. 15 overall pick, the selection of Christian Wilkins would be a steal. The defensive tackle for the Clemson Tigers is rated as a top-10 pick, but he could fall if the draft shapes up like this. Wilkins is an incredibly talented defensive lineman who can not only stuff the run, but is also fantastic at clogging up the middle and making life miserable for the opposing quarterback.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is a defensive genius, and he would love a player with Wilkins skill set. Wilkins, like the Patriots, has played in big games over the last two seasons, and both were World Champions last year. The Patriots will likely have the last pick in the first round, or no pick at all, but Wilkins would be a fantastic addition if the wheels fall off this season.
