Lamar Jackson

Quarterback, Louisville

The Jacksonville Jaguars got off to a good start to the 2017 NFL season, as they went on the road and beat the Houston Texans. The Texans came into the game as the favorite to win the AFC South once again in 2017, but the Jaguars defense proved to be too much. On a day when rookie running back Leonard Fournette rushed for 100 yards, quarterback Blake Bortles did nothing, and it may be time to turn the page.

Last season, Lamar Jackson of Louisville won the Heisman Trophy, proving to be an incredible weapon from the quarterback position. In 2017, he has once again gotten off to a fast start, and appears headed to be at least a Heisman finalist again. The Jaguars could use his talent at the quarterback position, and he should be available them if they pick towards the middle of the first round.

Jackson is a solid dual-threat quarterback, who can make plays with his arm, and his legs. The Jaguars are a team that could be on the rise, as they spent some good money to improve their defense this past offseason. That defense was on full display against the Texans, and if they can get someone to play quarterback, they could be challenging for a division title as early as next season.
