2018 NFL Mock Draft: Saquon Barkley crashing QB party
By Brad Weiss
Heading into Chicago for a Week 1 matchup against the Bears, the Atlanta Falcons were supposed to roll on Sunday. Instead, they found themselves in a dogfight, and had to sack Mike Glennon as time expired to come away with the victory. Maybe it was a Super Bowl hangover, but the team did not look like the same unit that dominated in the NFC Playoffs last year.
Turning the page from their narrow win on Sunday, the Falcons are in really good shape to get back to the Super Bowl this season. Quarterback Matt Ryan is one of the elite in the NFL, and if they can get their running game going, they are going to be prolific on offense again. If they want to continue to move the ball effectively, they need to keep building the offensive line, and Trey Adams would be a nice fit here.
Adams has helped pave the way for the Huskies rise to national title contender, and he has the size and feet to stay on the left side at the next level. The team has made big investments in Ryan and running back Devonta Freeman, so the offensive line needs to remain a priority. They have some solid players on both sides of the ball, so bringing in a quality offensive lineman would be a smart move this late in round one.
