Arden Key

Defensive End, LSU

In one of the more shocking displays of ineptitude on Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals were shut out by the Baltimore Ravens at home. Head coach Marvin Lewis has never won a playoff game as the main man in Cincy, and it looks like that is not going to happen in 2017 either. Quarterback Andy Dalton turning the ball over five times, which is bad even for his standards.

When the 2018 NFL Draft rolls around, those same Bengals could very well be picking in the top-five. If they do happen to play bad enough to draft this early, they should look to bring in someone who can get after the passer. Despite being hurt right now, Arden Key from LSU is the most NFL-ready defender in this draft, and would be a perfect fit for the defensive schemes in Cincinnati.

Key is dealing with a shoulder issue, but that is not going to affect his draft status. He is a freak of nature, possessing a rare combination of size and speed. He is going to be a solid player at the next level, and judging by Sunday’s performance, this Cincinnati Bengals organization may need to blow this thing up and start over with some good, young, talent players. For Lewis, he just may not be around to see this thing improve.
