Minkah Fitzpatrick

Cornerback, Alabama

The Chicago Bears had the unfortunate task of trying to hold the Atlanta Falcons offense at bay in Week 1, and they did a pretty nice job of doing just that. The Bears played their hearts out this past Sunday, and actually had a chance to win the game on the final play. Quarterback Mike Glennon was sacked to end the game, but Bears fans have to be happy with what they saw from their team.

Next season, the quarterbacking duties switch to Mitchell Trubisky, who the team selected No. 2 overall in last April’s NFL Draft. Because of that, they do not need to draft a quarterback in round one, and can instead look to bring in more talent on defense. Minkah Fitzpatrick is the best cornerback in this draft class, and would be a perfect fit in Chicago.

Not only can Fitzpatrick cover well, but he has the speed to make up for it if he does make a mistake in coverage. He has nice hands for a defensive back, and is not afraid to come up and make the big hit. He is the kind of player you can put on the best wideout the other team has and just forget about them. The Bears need defensive playmakers, and Fitzpatrick is going to be just that at the next level.
