2018 NFL Mock Draft: Saquon Barkley crashing QB party
By Brad Weiss
Last season, Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins was once again one of the more productive signal-callers in the NFC. However, the team let his two top targets go this past offseason, as DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon walked. The team did bring in Terrell Pryor Sr. from the Cleveland Browns, but he showed on Sunday he cannot do it on his own.
In order to soften the blow left by the departure of Garcon and Jackson, the Redskins should look to bring in another target for Cousins in the passing game. Christian Kirk is the best NFL prospect at wide receiver in this draft class, and has that big-play ability that Cousins loves. Cousins loves to stretch the field, and drafting Kirk would add that wrinkle to the offense.
This Redskins team is going to struggle this season, as they looked like the worst team in the NFC East on Sunday. The Eagles have gotten better, and the Cowboys put together a dominant performance against the Giants. If the team does decided to keep Cousins, as he is currently playing under his second franchise tag, they need to make bringing in players that fit his skill set a priority.
