Bradley Chubb

Defensive End, NC State

The New Orleans Saints opened up their 2017 NFL season on the road on Monday night, as they went to Minnesota to play the Vikings. Still armed with one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Drew Brees, the Saints figured they could move the ball against a tough Vikings defense. They were able to score 19 points against the Vikings, but it was no match for the 29 that Minnesota hung on them.

New Orleans needs to do a better job of getting after the quarterback, and bringing in a young defensive end looks to be a good move in round one. Bradley Chubb from NC State is an explosive edge rusher who would fit perfectly in the Saints defensive scheme. In the NFC South, you need to get after the quarterback, and Chubb has become one of the best in college football at doing just that.

If they ever want to become a .500 team again, the Saints need to start bringing in talent on defense. They spent a first round pick on cornerback Marshon Lattimore last April, he proved to be worth the selection on Monday night. Chubb would be another solid, young defensive player to add to a unit that often cannot get off the field on third down. The NFC South is loaded, so the Saints need to start catching up to the rest of the division.
