4. The hitting

Boston has a very good lineup which features Hanley Ramirez,  Mookie Betts, and Dustin Pedroia among others. The Red Sox lineup is very potent and can win them some games, as combined this season the they have hit 150 home runs.

This Red Sox lineup is also very deep, as anyone is a threat one-to-nine in the lineup, and a lot of them will hit for contact. Boston’s current starting nine has a combined batting average of .273 and an on-base percentage of .344. Both very respectable and good numbers that will help come playoffs when you have to manufacture runs.

Boston will need to continue hitting, as they can easily win games with their bats alone.

If the Red Sox can continue to play small ball and manufacture runs, their bats will carry them to some more wins and help them clinch a playoff spot.
