2. They’ve been here before

The Red Sox have been here before, and they know how to get to the playoffs. Practically every player on the Red Sox have playoff experience. And if there is something that comes with playoff experience, it is knowing how to get there and playing good baseball in September.

Boston is a veteran team that has won World Series or been to the playoffs several times. That will only help the Red Sox out as the veterans can mentor the young players of how September baseball will work, and to not get too tired for the playoffs.

A lot of players are tiring out right now, there’s no question there. What the Red Sox and other perennial contenders know is how to manage that, and enter the playoffs fresh. As was previously mentioned, the Red Sox have a good lead on the division meaning they can now start resting their starters.

Playoff experience means a lot and these guys know how to get it done.
