 16. Monaco

This may not be the same deep and talented squad Monaco squad of last season. But there are still some quality players in the ranks.

Among them, summer import Youri Tielemans netted the equaliser for the Ligue 1 outfit in Leipzig. Still just 20, Tielemans is a natural flair player in midfield who will eventually dovetail well with gifted winger and Arsenal target Thomas Lemar.

More than the players they have left, Monaco’s most important man is manager Leonardo Jardim. The 43-year-old can shift his teams seamlessly between ruthless pragmatism to wide-open attacking football.

Few managers are as good as Jardim is at working with what he has. Remember, this a club which sold Bakayoko, Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy this summer, as well as loaning Mbappe to PSG.

Still, you can count on Jardim adapting to the new challenges and keeping Monaco competitive in Europe.
