15. Sevilla

Rescuing a 2-1 deficit at Anfield proved Sevilla still know what it takes to succeed in Europe. This is a team with a new manager in Eduardo Berizzo, but one still loaded with plenty of experience in winning tournament football.

Such experience was obvious when Sevilla refused to panic despite falling behind on Merseyside. By contrast, the senior figures in Berizzo’s squad merely stepped up their respective games.

It meant Steven N’Zonzi and Ever Banega controlling midfield. Sergio Escudero did his bit defensively, while Ben Yedder proved a constant menace up front.

Sevilla didn’t win three Europa League trophies on the spin by accident. Although last season was a down one in Europe, this club still has the resources to compete this year.
