Champions League Power Rankings: PSG shine in matchweek 1

31. Feyenoord
Feyenoord should have caused Manchester City some problems on their own patch. Last season’s Eredivisie champions had the players to make things physical in Rotterdam.
Yet manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s players barely laid a glove on Sergio Aguero and Co. A 4-0 scoreline didn’t flatter City, but it did underscore just how bad Feyenoord were in the first week.
There was a lack of bite in midfield, along with no pace to stretch City in attack. In other words, this was a far cry from the team that beat Manchester United at home in last season’s Europa League group stage.
It also looked a million miles from the one good enough to sweep all aside in its domestic league in 2016-17. Van Bronckhorst has a lot of work to do to fix the bleeding ahead of the second matchweek.
Feyenoord waited 15 years to return to the group stage of the Champions League. But the early evidence says the men from Rotterdam still don’t belong.
