Champions League Power Rankings: PSG shine in matchweek 1

Spurs followed up the impressive 3-0 dismissal of Everton in the Premier League by having too much for Dortmund in Europe. Predictably, Tottenham once again had their star striker to thank for another big win.
Harry Kane scored twice, prompting this lofty praise from Barney Ronay of the Guardian:
"Most of all Tottenham were lucky to have Kane in their team. He was simply brilliant here, producing the rare trick of a leader’s performance not from centre-half but from centre-forward. At times you half expected to look up and see him sporting a white bandage on his head, shirt smeared with blood, fist pumping braveheart-style."
Kane was the class of the show, but Spurs also received excellent performances from the rest of their attacking armoury. Son Heung-min opened the scoring to again prove his worth to the team. Tottenham are just a more fluent attacking force with the South Korean’s flair added to the starting XI.
Cerebral playmaker Christian Eriksen was also excellent in midfield, as was Mousa Dembele. Things could have been more solid defensively, but manager Mauricio Pochettino will still be more than content with his team’s start.
