United beat Basel with room to spare, but manager Jose Mourinho was far from happy. He chided his players for relaxing and showing off at 2-0 up, per BBC Sport:

"We were playing fantasy football, Playstation football. I don’t like it – flicks and tricks. We gambled and you have to respect your opponent. I don’t know if goal difference will play a part. We lost position, our shape, we lost balls in easy situations. I didn’t like it – the players relaxed too much."

Mourinho’s barbs prompted this delightful quip from the games console manufacturer:

The gripes of the manager aside, United can generally be happy with their first game back in the Champions League. They got another goal from free-scoring summer signing Romelu Lukaku and didn’t concede.

Keeping a clean sheet will likely please Mourinho more after the way his team shipped two goals at Stoke in the Premier League last time out.

However, United will need firepower to make headway in this tournament, something Lukaku is already providing.
