Cleveland Indians extend insane winning streak to 22 games in dramatic fashion

The Cleveland Indians extended their winning streak to an insane 22 games on Thursday night, and of course they had to add in some dramatics as well.

To put it simply, what the Cleveland Indians are doing right now as we head down the home stretch of the MLB season is downright insane. This team made history on Wednesday when they won their 21st — TWENTY-FIRST — consecutive game, giving them the most wins in a row for any team in American League history.

But with games still to play, they took to the field on Thursday against the Kansas City Royals to see if they could keep this incredible run of momentum going as they continue to chase history and the 1916 Giants. This win wasn’t as easy as the others, but in the end, the Indians were indeed able to extend that winning streak to 22 games.

It looked as if the dream may come to a close in the ninth inning, as Cleveland entered the last half of the inning down 2-1. You know, it was a good run and all, but all good things must come to an end sooner or later, right? Yeah, well, Francisco Lindor was having none of that talk.

And just like that, the dream run was risen from the dead with one swing of the bat. All that was left to do was finish it off in extra innings, and the Indians did just that.

Jay Bruce would provide the dramatic moment at the plate for the Indians and the streak.

With what took place on Thursday night here, now you’re beginning to wonder if team is even real. They were just about deceased in the bottom of the ninth inning but they just would not roll over to see it all end. They came through like every great team does, and now they remain firmly in the race chasing history.

The Indians will now look to see if they can make it 23 on Friday night when they take on the Royals again in Cleveland.
