Arkansas Razorbacks (1-1)

Last week: Loss vs. No. 23 TCU, 28-7
Last rank: 5th

It may have only been a 21-point loss at home to the TCU Horned Frogs, but it was a 21-point loss at home to the TCU Horned Frogs for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Yes, TCU was ranked, but this was a game where Arkansas needed to win to prove that it was going to be a different year in Fayetteville.

To completely unravel like that at home against a former Southwest rival was embarrassing. Arkansas just doesn’t look like a team that will ever win 10 games under head coach Bret Bielema. If you think it’s going to get easier once SEC play begins, you’re sorely mistaken. That loss was almost as bad as that one Florida had to Michigan in Arlington in Week 1.

Ole Miss Rebels (2-0)

Last week: Win vs. Tennessee-Martin, 45-23
Last rank: 13th

Maybe the Ole Miss Rebels are going to play with a ton of heart this year. If so, more power to them and the job interim head coach Matt Luke is doing. Ole Miss is 2-0 with 10 more games on the slate. The Rebels have been able to put up over 45 points in their first two games of the season, albeit against weaker competition.

Having a strong second-year signal caller in Shea Patterson will make the Rebels capable of hanging in shootouts. It will be interesting to see how Ole Miss plays out the rest of their lost season. Though they won’t win a ton in SEC play, the Rebels will knock somebody off they shouldn’t. This team isn’t ready to mail it in just yet.
