LSU Tigers (2-0)

Last week: Win vs. Chattanooga, 45-10
Last rank: 3rd

The biggest threat to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC is probably Ed Orgeron’s LSU Tigers. They are 2-0 and the No. 12 team in the country. We know that LSU will play great defense and pound the rock with Derrius Guice, but will Matt Canada be able to completely change the passing game culture in Baton Rouge?

LSU has looked tremendous in its first two games against BYU and Chattanooga. However, they will have a tough road game in Starkville against Nick Fitzgerald and the Mississippi State Bulldogs. LSU should be the favorite, but how the Bayou Bengals look against a worthy SEC West adversary will shape how we view the program entering October.

Alabama Crimson Tide (2-0)

Last week: Win vs. Fresno State, 41-10
Last rank: 1st

No doubt who is No. 1 this week. Until Alabama loses, they are the top dog in the SEC without hesitation. They are the No. 1 team in the country for a reason. Alabama is menacing on defense and methodical offensively. The Crimson Tide will win at least 11 games this year, probably more.

Just looking at their schedule, this is an Alabama team that will likely be undefeated heading their November 4 game with rival LSU. With questions surrounding Auburn and Tennessee, Alabama could be unscathed heading into Atlanta for a fourth straight SEC Championship Game appearance.
