NFL Hot Seat: 5 coaches that must win Week 2
1. Chuck Pagano, Indianapolis Colts
Chuck Pagano has long been on the hot seat in Indianapolis. He has been bailed out time and time again by the health of Andrew Luck, who has had a lingering shoulder injury since 2015. Luck may help Pagano delay his firing once again as the the Colts head coach has to deal with a lack of depth at the quarterback position.
Scott Tolzien started in a disgusting loss in Week 1 to the Los Angeles Rams by a score of 46-9. The Colts have to travel to Arizona to face the Cardinals on Sunday. A similar result wouldn’t be surprising which should lead to the ouster of Pagano.
Pagano’s ride in Indianapolis has been a rollercoaster. In 2012, he was diagnosed with leukemia and had to miss the season. When he returned to his coaching duties he was greeted with open arms, but the Colts fans aren’t as happy about him anymore.
Pagano hasn’t been able to find any success with one of the best quarterbacks of his generation. To put it simply, it is time for the Colts to move on.

Anything short of a Super Bowl win will likely see Pagano get fired at some point this season and sooner rather than later would probably be best for the team. The 56-year-old probably should have been fired after general manager Ryan Grigson was let go over the offseason. There is no way that the Colts new general manager will settle for this abysmal play for much longer and the scape goat will surely be the head coach.
