Not even Mother Nature could endure watching the Broncos and Cowboys game on Sunday, with bad weather delaying the game.

For the second time in two weeks, Mother Nature played a role in delaying an NFL game. After the Buccaneers and Dolphins had to move their Bye Week thanks to Hurricane Irma, weather delayed the Broncos-Cowboys showdown.

While the weather didn’t look to be too nasty at kickoff, showers moved into the area and things went downhill from there. A look at the radar showed potentially severe storms moving into the area after the game had started.

When a delay happens, it’s usually due to lightning moving into the area — something that doesn’t go too well with a large outdoor area with a lot of people. This happened twice last year to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who had to delay games due to thunderstorms and has happened numerous times throughout the years to other teams.

The game is slated to resume at about 6pm ET, which is a bit of a wait but it’s worth it in the end. When it comes to the safety of the fans and the players, there’s no need to rush anyone back out onto the field. The last thing anyone wants is for someone to be harmed in a situation that is controllable.
