1. James White

James White is a great football player. He may not show up in fantasy football rankings and score a ton of points regularly, but his contributions to the New England Patriots shouldn’t be ignored. He’s a reliable runner, a fantastic receiver, and it’s his versatility that will show up this week when New England needs it the most. We’ve already highlighted Rex Burkhead as a potential sleeper, but it’s the NFL’s current “stiff arm of the year” holder who could have an even bigger day.

In Week 1, White led the New England running backs in yards (68), catches (3) and his 10 carries weren’t too far behind Mike Gillislee’s 15. Dalvin Cook had 127 yards on the ground and 5.8 per carry against New Orleans in the first week two, and the Patriots should see similar success on the ground, even if they divide it up between their ball-carriers.

New England turned to White in the Super Bowl, and while the chips are down and must secure a win in Week 2 on the road to New Orleans, they could turn his way again. I’m looking foward to a high-scoring bout this week, and White stands a chance to benefit in a big way.
