9. Chris Carson

It’s hard to re-recommend someone a week after they only managed 49 total yards, but Chris Carson had the most runs among Seattle running backs, the only catch among them and had a big 30-yard play that Eddie Lacy simply didn’t seem capable of. He could continue to be involved moving forward.

Carson has worked his way up from the bottom of the depth chart to perhaps the top, and didn’t do anything that would convince his coaches he isn’t worthy of that position. The biggest question marks are around his peak involvement (the Seahawks potentially have four runnings back they may rotate) and the state of the team’s offensive line – will they be able to run at all?

The positive here is that Seattle are playing the 49ers, and we can expect big things from both this offense and the defense to bounce back after an unacceptable performance in Week 1. The Seahawks should have plenty of opportunity to run the ball, score points and get their backs a few more carries. If Carson can run as hard as he had all offseason, he might be handed the ball more often than not. Keep a close eye on this backfield.
