Minkah Fitzpatrick

S, Alabama

Minkah Fitzpatrick is going to make teams give serious consideration into taking him in the top 10 or maybe a little bit higher in the draft. His ability to play in coverage, get the ball and also blitz is something that is going to make him the next great Alabama safety in the pros.

Versatility is key, but the way he doesn’t give a receiver space as he wraps up around them shows that he isn’t just a physical safety that can lack in coverage. He does just about everything right on the field and he always knows where the football was.

The one touchdown scored over him this year was just a really great catch by Florida State’s Auden Tate. Fitzpatrick had great coverage on the play and there was just really nothing he could do to prevent it.

When a player is so special that it takes great plays to beat them, it shows their worth. Against Colorado State, Fitzpatrick had six tackles on the night and a pass deflection. He also had a huge blitz that rattled the opposition.

His real threat is in his ability to force a turnover and take the ball back the other way. That’s why his ability to diagnose everything that is in front of him makes him one of the top safeties in the nation.
