College Football Week 4: NFL Draft big board rankings
The 2017 season has not been very kind to the draft stock of Connor Williams thus far. The Texas offensive tackle came into the season with plenty of hype and it has been an absolute dud through the first three games.
Even worse for Williams is that he is now going to be out for an extended period of time after the tackle suffered a knee injury against USC. With the star tackle set to miss time, there will be questions about how he is able to respond from the knee surgery.
This shouldn’t necessarily mean he’s due for a big slide or anything, but it gives the opportunity for others to jump ahead of him on draft boards. It just hasn’t been his season and there have been uncharacteristic penalties as well that have gone against him.
For those that have watched Williams in the past, it’s as if they have been watching a different individual this season. The hope is that he’ll be able to return to the field soon enough and back into the form the Longhorns were expecting.
It was just a tough night all around for Texas. They fought their hearts out on the road against USC and came up just short in double overtime. There have certainly been better days for the program and for Williams.
