College Football Blitz, Week 3: Clemson isn’t going anywhere

Pac-12: So, Todd Graham is just about done in Tempe, right?!
It may have flown under the radar a bit, but over the summer one of the news stories that should have caught everyone’s eye was the failure of the Arizona State administration to grant head football coach Todd Graham a contract extension. It was a clear message that this season better produce some positive results on the field following a 5-7 campaign in 2016 and, well, so far that is not the case at all.
Arizona State fell to 1-2 on the early season Saturday night after dropping a 52-45 shootout against Texas Tech. This coming just one week after they suffered a 10-point loss to San Diego State of the Mountain West, a team we discussed a bit at the beginning.
With games coming up now on the Pac-12 schedule against Oregon, Stanford, Washington, Utah, Colorado and UCLA in the next six outings, we’re probably watching the end of the Todd Graham era in Tempe, Arizona. For the most part, it’s been nothing but a decline since they were tops in the Pac-12 South in 2013, so it’s just about time to move on from the man who once texted his former players he was leaving for a new job as he was on the plane heading west.
Could Graham with his offense pull off some sort of miracle win in one of those six consecutive games mentioned above? Sure, but chances are it won’t be enough to earn him some more time as the head man of the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Maybe if he had just kept the Britney Spears headset like we all suggested, then everything wouldn’t be this bad.
