NFL quarterback rankings, Week 3: Trevor Siemian shines, Carson Palmer stinks
Brad Johnson Division
22. Carson Palmer (Prev: 19)
Palmer might be totally shot. After his five-turnover meltdown in the 2015 NFC Championship Game, the veteran has never fully recovered. The Cardinals are 1-1 but look pathetic. Palmer is the ringleader of that wreck, completing 54.8 percent of his throws with four interceptions.
21. Joe Flacco (Prev: 23)
Flacco is a weird call. He’s played in two games, has two wins, and completed 66.7 percent of his throws. So why this low? Because he’s amassed 338 yards and had and entire half (second half at Cincinnati) where he didn’t complete a single pass. He’s still a shell fo his former self, which was average to begin with.
20. Tyrod Taylor (Prev: 22)
Taylor has no chance with the Bills. His starting receivers are Zay Jones and Jordan Matthews. On Sunday, Taylor had an opportunity to beat Carolina with an epic deep ball in the closing seconds, but overthrew a wide-open Jones at the goal line. In short, Buffalo has no offense, and while Taylor isn’t the entire problem, he’s part of it.
19. Trevor Siemian (Prev: 24)
Siemian makes the biggest jump. of the week. The Northwestern product was tremendous against the Cowboys, throwing for 233 yards and four touchdowns. After two weeks, the youngster leads the league in passing touchdowns with six. Well done.
