Dorance Armstrong Jr.

Edge, Kansas

The New England Patriots looked very bad in their Week 1 loss to Kansas City, and already people were already saying it was the end of Tom Brady. Well, he quieted everybody in a big way in Week 2, throwing for three first quarter touchdown passes against the New Orleans Saints. There is nothing wrong with Brady, and while this mock has them at No. 22 due to their record, they could very well be picking at the end of the first round by the time all is said and done.

With their pick in the first, if they decide to hang onto it, they should look to bring in some talent on the defensive side of the ball. The Patriots have shown some kinks in their armor this season, and some of their veteran players are starting to get banged up. Dorance Armstrong Jr. is the kind of player head coach Bill Belichick loves, as he is a high-motor guy who can play sideline to sideline.

It is probably a moot point to be predicting what the Patriots are going to do in the first round, as they are likely to trade the pick anyway. Still, Armstrong is a solid player, and would give the Patriots another guy who can get to the quarterback. Belichick is a defensive genius, so any player lucky enough to be drafted by him is going to make an impact in year one.
