Jaire Alexander

Cornerback, Louisville

The Denver Broncos look very good to start the 2017 season, beating division rival Los Angeles in Week 1, and then destroying the Dallas Cowboys this past weekend. Denver has arguably the best defensive unit in the AFC, and it showed on Sunday against the Cowboys. The Broncos held Ezekiel Elliott under ten yards, and a pick-six by Aqib Talib sealed the deal in the team’s blowout loss.

As the team looks towards the 2018 NFL Draft, they may be wise to bolster their secondary. That sounds crazy based on the effort they have put forth this season, but Talib is starting to get up there in age. The team should look to bring in his eventual replacement in Jaire Alexander, who could learn a lot from Talib as he begins to pass him the torch.

Alexander is an exciting prospect for the Louisville Cardinals, and is one of the more versatile players in all of college football. He would fit in nicely in Denver, and with how much depth they have in the secondary, he could grow as a player until it is his time to shine. The Broncos have been kind of surprising this season, but as they have shown in the past, they can win a ring with an elite defense like the one they have in 2017.
