Quenton Nelson

Offensive Guard, Notre Dame

The Atlanta Falcons had the worst loss in Super Bowl history this past February, blowing a 28-3 second half lead against the New England Patriots. After struggling to beat the Chicago Bears in Week 1, the Falcons bounced back in a big way in Week 2, throttling the Green Bay Packers at home. The game was a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship Game, and reiterated that the Falcons are still the class of the conference.

In order to continue to dominate on offense, the Falcons need to bring in more talent on the offensive line. Quenton Nelson from Notre Dame is the best offensive guard in college football, and will join tackle Mike McGlinchey as first round picks next April. Nelson has tremendous feet, and would be a nice addition to an already solid Falcons offensive line.

It is very hard for teams to get back to the Super Bowl, especially after losing in the manner they did last February. However, the Falcons are absolutely loaded on both sides of the ball, and have a tremendous head coach in Dan Quinn. They are going to pick very late in round one next April, and Nelson should be available even at No. 31.
