Connor Williams

Offensive Tackle, Texas

The Los Angeles Chargers do not change, even if they did change cities this past offseason. Through the first two games of the season, the Chargers should be 2-0, or at least 1-1, and instead they sit at 0-2. Their rookie kicker, Younghoe Koo, has missed two huge field goals to start his career, and the Chargers find themselves looking up at three 2-0 teams in the very tough AFC West division.

If the Chargers hope to be relevant in the AFC West, they need to do a better job in bringing in talent along their offensive line. They drafted a couple of guards last year, but this upcoming draft, they need to bring in one of the elite offensive lineman in the class. The best offensive tackle in this draft class is Connor Williams, who would slide in and be the team’s starting left tackle immediately.

Los Angeles has a fabulous quarterback in Philip Rivers, but you have to wonder how many good years he has left in him. Williams would give Rivers a true stud left tackle, and could wind up extending his career by a couple of years. There is no doubt the Chargers have the playmakers they need to be competitive, but if they do not bolster their offensive line, it is not going to matter much.
