Best NFL games of Week 3: Marcus Mariota, Russell Wilson meet in Nashville showdown
By Joe Schiller
4. Oakland Raiders at Washington Redskins
Sunday night gives us a rematch all the way back to Super Bowl XVIII for all of you historical junkies. The Raiders won that game in convincing fashion 38-9. Times are different now and this primetime matchup will be one of the best games that you’ll watch this weekend.
The Redskins are a hard team to gauge right now. They looked bad in the Week 1 loss to the Eagles, but went on the road to beat a Rams team that’s better than we expected. The questions come on the offensive side of the ball for this team. Where is the production going to come from? Terrelle Pryor, the big offseason signing, has yet to catch a pass in two games. Jordan Reed is struggling to stay on the field and starting running back Rob Kelly is dealing with a rib injury. I’m just not sure I can see this team putting up many points.
The struggles of the Redskins offense play right into the Raiders favor. The Raiders defense is still a question mark, but have done enough to hold off the Titans and Jets the first two weeks of the season. Any problems on defense are made up with the production on offense. Marshawn Lynch is having the time of his life and Derek Carr is having his way tossing touchdowns to Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree.
This game will be a touchdown difference, but the Raiders offense is going give them advantage. Kirk Cousins never seems to play well in the big games and I’m not sure things will be much different come Sunday night.
