DraftKings: NFL Week 3 best values
By Joe Romano
Defense/Special Teams
Tennessee Titans $2700 vs. Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks have consistently been one of the best team in the NFL for five years or so. Most of that success has come from running the ball and playing great defense. They can still play great defense but their offense looks lost.
To add fuel to the fire, star tight end Jimmy Graham is dealing with an injury and questionable for this week’s game. Tennessee is the beneficiary of that bad Seattle luck.
The Titans have a defense that’s started the season with up and down performance. They still sport a great pass rush and a secondary that is learning to play together. With the terrible offensive line performances by the Seahawks in the first two weeks, the Titans could be in for a big fantasy performance. They were tied for sixth in sacks a year ago. While quarterback Russel Wilson is not known for turnovers, he is going to be constantly running for his life.
Any time a team with that bad of an offensive line gets to play a team that can generate pressue turnover opportunities are there. Even without turnovers, the sacks and lack of points Seattle will put up could vault the Titans into a top ten defense this week.
They enter as DraftKings’ 14th ranked defense. They can outperform that and even finish up by the top five. The lack of money invested in a defense can help you put some big money on the marquee players like Cam Newton or Jay Ajayi who have unbelievable matchups.
Runner up
Cleveland Browns $3000 vs Indianapolis Colts
The Browns enter as DraftKings’ 11th-ranked defense. This should tell you how bad the Colts offense is. Cleveland has an improving defense but they are certainly not a top-12 unit in the league.
The Colts have not been able to put up a quality performance on offense in either of their first two games. Young quarterback Jacoby Brissett is still getting comfortable after a preseason trade. Last years’ receiving yard leader T.Y. Hilton does not look like the same player without Andrew Luck. Their offensive line, which may have cost Luck some games last year, is another disaster in 2017.
Next: 10 unlikely Super Bowl MVPs
The Browns have players on defense, especially if they get number one pick Myles Garrett back from an ankle injury. Even without the rookie pass rusher, Jamie Collins and Danny Shelton support a quality front seven that can lead to a nightmare game for Brissett.
The price tag kicks them into the runner up section. The Titans have a tougher offensive matchup but the availability to blow past their ranking. The Browns will likely finish in the top ten and have a lower floor than Tennessee at a slightly higher price.
Good luck in Week 3!
