College Football Rankings 2017: Projected Top 25 after Week 4
No. 15: Oklahoma State Cowboys (3-1)
Ranking coming into Week 4: No. 6
Mason Rudolph’s Heisman chances took a huge hit and Oklahoma State’s title push might have been permanently halted after losing to TCU at home on Saturday afternoon. It’s college football, so never say never, but this loss could be a reason that OSU misses out on some important postseason football this year.
No. 14: Auburn Tigers (3-1)
Ranking coming into Week 4: No. 15
Poor Mizzou. After getting clobbered by Purdue at home, Auburn came calling this week and it didn’t get much better. The Tigers demolished one of the other Tigers in the SEC, 51-14. Outside of a tough loss in Death Valley against the defending champions, Auburn has looked good so far this season. As usual, their season will be defined later on with the Iron Bowl.
No. 13: Miami Hurricanes (2-0)
Ranking coming into Week 4: No. 14
Miami got off to a really slow start against Toledo on Saturday, but found their stride and got going towards another victory with 28 points in the final frame. With the (actual) hurricane damage and chaos behind them, this could be a dangerous team moving forward if they can avoid the slow starts to games.
No. 12: Virginia Tech Hokies (4-0)
Ranking coming into Week 4: No. 13
Justin Fuente’s guys might be the best chance of keeping Clemson from winning the conference again this season. That matchup comes next week. As for this week, the Hokies rocked Old Dominion by 38 on Saturday and continue to impress in the early portion of the season.
No. 11: Ohio State Buckeyes (3-1)
Ranking coming into Week 4: No. 10
The Buckeyes stomped UNLV at home and J.T. Barrett threw for five touchdowns in the process. Easy day for Urban Meyer’s ballclub. There’s not too many of those in the Big Ten East this season, so they’ll take it. However, they should probably drop a spot this week. That’s how good Georgia looked this weekend.
